Before design college, I went to a fine arts high school where I spent majority of my time in an art studio. I always loved drawing, ever since I can remember – I would spend a lot of time working in my sketch book or painting with acrylics. After attending design college in Vancouver I discovered, to my surprise, how much I enjoyed drawing in Photoshop and in Illustrator. At first this was just with the use of my mouse – then I got my first Wacom Intuos tablet and it all changed from there. I could paint in Photoshop with similar techniques as using real brushes and discovered that I really enjoyed digital art. However, I still like to pick up a real paint brush or pen from time to time and I think I always will, because that’s where it all started for me.
I decided to include some progression photos of my ‘Cuda painting which leads up the the final product. Though I still want to rework the background a bit I am pleased with the outcome.
And the final painting. One day I hope to get prints of these made if there is interest from people to purchase them, however for now this is something I just really enjoy doing in my spare time and hope to learn and grow with each painting I complete.
Have any suggestions or requests for my next painting? Let me know!
